The Egg Island Rehabilitation Project was started roughly 380 years ago by a once small company seeking to study insects known as Vivus Corp. They had humble beginnings, a college group working out of a garage that saw more in these little bugs. Over time, their scope grew and grew, studying behaviour in insects and relating it to human beings.
"...I saw a lot of similarities between how they acted and how we acted. It's a kind of perfection. No crime, no harm dealt to each other, just a perfect society. It inspired me to push for human study, and soon our company shifted."
It spurred an interest in psychology, and Vivus Corp became La Federación De Rehabilitación, focusing on seeing how human beings functioned and seeking ways to help those others had turned their back on. It was dirty, tough work, but it paid off.
"...I was seeing murderers rethink their lives, swinging arms over the shoulders of terrorists as they wept for forgiveness. People who had never been extended a chance finally getting one, but they could never leave their cells."
OVOs reached out to La Federación De Rehabilitación after hearing their many success stories working in the backs of prisons, and offered to open their doors. OVOs is notoriously a place where the worst go to die, and we seeked to change that. We were permitted the funds to create Egg Island, reusing an old dragon's roost to make a getaway of therapy, and a set of prisoners to run in it as a trial. The island is also populated with little friendly bears to help out its residents during their stay.
"The success of the trial was unprecedented, and the government took great interest in our rehabilitation techniques. Said they've never seen anything like it, and that two years after, they still hadn't reoffended. Whatever we did worked, whatever those tiny creatures taught us worked."
380 years later, Amato Quackity stands as the current on site supervisor with open arms. Generalised and specific therapy, prescriptions and medication, and a home away from home sits in Egg Island for prisoners who fit the criteria for the trial. Currently, the doors to Egg Island open each decade, but The Federation is seeking to have it open more often.
